JEWELRY
Gold-filled does not peel like plated nor does it tarnish as easily as silver.  From time to time, you may wish to clean your jewelry from everyday wear.  We recommend using mild soap and water.
Sterling Silver should be stored individually in its own case or pouch in a dry, cool place.  Avoid keeping jewelry in the bathroom.  You could try sealing it in an airtight plastic bag to protect it from oxidation and humidity.
Over time, dirt, makeup residue, and skin oils can build up causing the silver to become cloudy or dull.  It is best to clean regularly and gently wipe it with a soft cloth.  We discourage using chemical liquid jewelry cleaners.  Avoid using coarse fibers, but wipe down as often as you'd like!

What's the difference between Gold-Filled vs Plated?

Gold-filled generally lasts much longer than most electroplated jewelry.  It is a quality material, easy to care for, and will usually maintain its golden shine for a lifetime.

Unlike plated metals or "dipped" metals, Gold-filled is legally required to contain 1/20 gold by weight.  Our 14K Gold Filled jewelry is 14/20 Gold-filled.

Gold-plated is a small layer applied to a brass base.  It is estimated to be .05% or less of gold.  It will generally wear off quickly exposing the brass.  Gold plating cannot stand up to heat, water, or wear over time.
